The countryside around Tain and Dornoch offers a wide variety of sporting and leisure activities. There are numerous beaches at Dornoch, Nigg, Shandwick, Balintore and also at Portmahomack where windsurfing and water skiing can be enjoyed. The headland at Tarbat Ness, where the lighthouse stands, has excellent coastal scenery and is also one of the popular locations for spotting dolphins. There are numerous forest walks in the area catering for all abilities: Tain Hill, Ravens Rock Gorge, Aldie Burn, Golspie Big Burn and many more, not forgetting The Black Rock Gorge which has been used as the backdrop for a scene in “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire”.

The caravan and camping park is run on an informal basis, the site is divided into two main areas one for camping and one for caravan’s. Giving you the freedom to choose your own spot anywhere in the camping or caravan area.

Extending over 12 acres of level grass overlooking the Summer Isles and Lochbroom, the importance and quality of the site was recognised in recent years when the park itself was made a conservation area to protect the land and views for future generations.
